During the height of the colonial era in the late 18th century there began a movement to usurp ancient African history and attribute it to Europeans. This movement began with Napoleon Bonaparte's invasion of Egypt in 1798. During this time the field of Egyptology was developed and undertook the dubious task of white washing the ancient civilization of Kemet (Egypt). Many racist, pseudoscientific theories were invented to promote the idea of a "fair skinned" civilization such as the long outdated and debunked "Hamitic Theory" and "Dynastic Theory", both of which have been proven wrong and abandoned by all credible academics.
Yet the falsified imagery of a "white" ancient Egypt still persists in the media and the minds of many who were brainwashed to perceive ancient Egypt as an Eurasian civilization. Thanks to the work of modern academics these long outdated concepts are now being challenged and the historical record is finally being corrected.
