Tutankhamun’s burial chamber is covered with detailed hieroglyphs and paintings that show his journey into the afterlife. Every wall tells part of the story, from the Opening of the Mouth ceremony to the king meeting the gods and scenes from his funeral. The artwork also includes symbols linked to Ausar, the god of the dead. One standout detail is on the east wall, where his funeral procession is shown, something that’s actually pretty rare in tombs of other pharaohs.

North Wall:

East Wall:

Portrays Tutankhamun's funeral procession, a scene common among royal tombs. The eastern wall of Tutankhamun's burial chamber depicts his funeral procession. The scene shows Tutankhamun's mummy being carried on a sledge by a group of 12 priestesses wearing white linen, headbands and sandals, which were customary for sacred ceremonies. The wall also features a spell from the Amduat, from the Book of the Dead of Coming Forth By Day.
